My Weekend

My weekend was really fun. On Friday we got out early, so that always means a good thing. Saturday my family and I went to Chillicothe  to the Armory for a Christmas dinner. My uncle Cody is in the National Guard so we get invited there every year for the Christmas dinner. There was a LOT of food there, and it was all really good! After the dinner Hayes, Kaitlynn, and I all went to the movie theater to see Catching Fire. It was really good, but it was also a little confusing because I hadn't seen the first Hunger Games. Now since I found out that I really like the second one I will have to watch the first one, and then the third one when it comes out. When the movie was over the three of us went out to eat at Beijing. I had a lot of fun Saturday night. Then on Sunday, my mom, dad, and I all went over to my Nanas and ate supper. We had one of my favorite foods: buffalo chicken and sweet potato fries. When we got home that night, Joey and Olivia came over and we all put up our Christmas tree and other decorations. After we got done we drank hot chocolate and watched the Chiefs game. (which turned out to be really good!)

Thanksgiving break

Last Tuesday was our last day for the week. We didn't have school on Wednesday or the rest of the week because Thursday was Thanksgiving. My break was awesome and I hope yours was too! On Thursday, we had Thanksgiving at my house, and my dad's side of the family came over. After we got done eating our food (which was a lot!) Trent and I went to my room and played the Xbox. After a little while they had to leave because grandma had to work. That night I tried to go to bed early because we were going Black Friday shopping in the morning. At 7 A.M. Nana, Mom, Matt, Jamie, and I all went to the city to go Black Friday shopping. We had to buy a lot of stuff for my mom's side of the family's Thanksgiving, which was on Saturday. That day it seemed like we went to every store in the city. We didn't get home until 12:30 A.M. so we were gone for 17 and a half hours! The next morning I got up at 8 and had to go down to the Community Hall. We did a lot of fun things there like: all of the kids went down to the park to play basketball., we played a LOT of football, and when it got dark everyone played hide and seek. The food we had was delicious! There was way too much to name it all, so lets just say we had PLENTY of food! On Sunday I was SOOOO tired! For most of the day I didn't do anything, I just watched T.V. My Thanksgiving weekend was a lot of fun and I am really sad it is over!

Veteran's Day Assembly

On Friday the 8th, I was told that my Patriots Pen essay had won 1st in local. We had to write the essay about "What Patriotism Means to Me." Monday was our Veterans Day assembly and I had to read my essay then. If you know me at all, you know that I DO NOT like to do anything in front of a crowd. I was so nervous, so all that weekend I practiced my speech. On Monday I was even more nervous at school. Finally, at 1:30 we were called down to the gym to the assembly. When the lady announced my name to come up and read my speech, I was shaking. The entire time I was reading, my hands were shaking, I was sweating, and my face was red. After I was done reading, I was SO relieved! It also made me feel a lot better because I found out I won $75! I can win even more too, if I win district or state. I hope I never have to do something like that again!
